1. Can I eat right from the bag?
For better quality and product safety, you should always follow the cooking instructions and cook the product at 165° F.
2. Is the product Non-GMO?
The products are Non-GMO.
3. Can I defrost and freeze the product again?
The recommendation we have on the package regarding “do not thaw and refreeze” has to do with the changes in the product characteristics after thawed out, e.g., product becoming block frozen and increase ice formation due to potential condensation.
If you are making frozen dinners and intend to freeze them after cooking and reheat them at a minimum of 165° F before consuming the food, it should be okay to thaw and refreeze the product.4. What does it mean that the product is organic?
Organic food is the product of a farming system which avoids the use of man-made fertilizers, pesticides. Irradiation and the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) or products produced from or by GMOs are generally prohibited by organic legislation.
5. Has the product been cooked?
The product is slightly blanched prior to freezing to deactivate the enzymes and ensure the quality of the product during its shelf life.
6. Is the product free from pathogens?
Yes, we have a stringent Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) and serval tests and hold procedures to ensure the absence of all pathogens on the product we deliver to our valued customers.

About
Agriculture was born over 8,000 years ago in Peru and this rich history continues today at Inka Gold Farms.
In the early 1980's, Don Roberto was visiting Germany to meet the parents of his girlfriend. During dinner at one of the finest restaurants in Deidesheim, Don Roberto noticed that the most expensive item on the menu was spargel (fresh white asparagus). First thing the next morning he made a trip to the vegetable market to speak with the buyers. He learned it was seasonally imported from South Africa and one of the reasons it was so expensive was due to scarcity. Don Roberto knew that Peru had an enormous advantage as it could export this expensive vegetable 12 months a year. He also had friends that were already shipping jarred white asparagus and he knew exactly who to contact when he returned to Peru.
After exporting the first box of white asparagus to Germany in 1986 and following many years of learning the business and working with some of the best growers in Peru, Don Roberto turned his attention from wholesaling to farming. During one visit to a small reliable supplier in the region, Don Roberto had an epiphany – that he could apply a life of experience with agriculture and feed the world with healthy, organic food grown in a sustainable manner. It was Don Roberto’s dream to create the leading organic asparagus farm by building his oasis in the dessert lands of Peru. North of Trujillo, near the Malabrigo Port, Don Roberto found a perfect location for his farm. It had a bountiful source of underground water and was located close to the highway yet isolated and hence less likely to be contaminated from the conventional activities of neighboring non-organic farms. Having identified the perfect location, it was time to begin acquiring land and putting to use the years of experience he had accumulated. Don Roberto began buying up small parcels of land and was soon planting his first seed. Over time, Don Roberto and his technical team had come to learn many of the ancient farming techniques that date back thousands of years. Many of these derive from the Mochica Indians, an agricultural society that was prevalent in the Trujillo area back in 700 AD. They had developed advanced irrigation techniques that utilized a series of canals to divert river water in order to supply their crops. They also had developed many other agrarian techniques used for soil preparation and cultivation in an area that had little rainfall and difficult soils.
The beginning of Inka Gold Farms had taken root...
Today we are continuing Don Roberto’s dream of creating one of the world’s leading organic, regenerative, sustainable farms. Located north of Trujillo is La Libertad – known as the “City of Everlasting Spring.” Here, Inka Gold Farms is leveraging Peru’s 8,000 year old agricultural history to build a new approach to farming, where the experience of tradition meets modern science to deliver sustainable farming solutions for our customers. By protecting and investing in our land, preserving our resources and supporting the health and safety of our people, Inka Gold Farms is a careful steward of the earth and a conscientious and caring employer. We understand our responsibility to minimize our global footprint, to promote ethical supply chains and to cultivate a better future for generations to come. We seek alignment of these interests with local communities, consumers, and all stakeholders and hold ourselves accountable through transparent processes as we seek a more sustainable future.
Inka Gold Farms sits on roughly 1,000 hectares of land, with over 400 hectares dedicated to organic asparagus, which is, arguably, the largest organic supply of asparagus in the hemisphere.
Our production runs 12 months a year across five different asparagus varieties that we manage on our farm. These varieties include: UC115, UC157, Early California,Vegalim and Inkalim. Vegalim and Inkalim are both male varieties (known as “super macho”). Inkalim is very similar to Vegalim, but is a variety developed specifically for Peru, its climate and soils.
Each variety is planted and cultivated based on its unique characteristics that help to maintain the highest quality asparagus throughout the year. This is supported by Inka Gold Farms exceptionally high processing yields at well over 80%. Some varieties will serve certain markets better given preferences for sizing, as is also the case between frozen and fresh (where certain varieties will be better for frozen and others for fresh).
At full production, the farm will be yielding in excess of 6,000,000 kgs of organic asparagus, available for sale across the world.
Inka Gold Farms has invested heavily in technology and infrastructure to support our quality and yield objectives.Water is our most precious resource and we manage water capture through a series of 13 wells and three reservoirs. We also utilize a world-class irrigation system and reverse osmosis facility to manage carbonates and salts.
Inka Gold Farms is building a state-of-the-art processing facility at the farm that will be fully licensed and certified, employing cutting edge technology for dry, wet and frozen. We are set up to manage multiple formats, private label, and unique packaging requests.
Our soil investment is one of the most important considerations at Inka Gold Farms. It starts with the highest grade manure, green compost, micro-organisms and other critical bio-inputs that make our soil extremely fertile and productive. To achieve the best quality asparagus, Inka Gold Farms must have the best soil, with the right bio-stimulants and the best nutrition program that is tailored to each phenological growth stage of the plant. The combination of great compost, high quality water, and the best nutrition are what keep our plants healthy and our organic asparagus looking and tasting great.
Inka Gold Farms collects data from a number of AI sensors measuring everything from water tension (tensiometers) to sugar contents of crowns (Brix refractometers) and pest incidence levels with optical sensors and traps. All data is recorded in an ERP that is manipulated to provide real-time, predictive analytics. The goal is to identify actionable insights in order to make better decisions that will improve agronomic opportunities, such as timing of applications, product decisions, and profitability of decision making. Inka Gold Farms is also actively employing drone technology for mapping, scouting and plant health purposes in order to reduce the time and costs associated with crop data collection.
